ACS6123   Intelligent and Vision Systems   (15 credits)

Year Running: 2017/2018
Credit level: F7
Pre-requisites   ACS6101, ACS6102, ACS6103 or equivalent modules

Description

The latest developments in intelligent and vision systems are revolutionising how we solve complex challenges in a wide variety of application, e.g. control, robotics and medicine. The application of intelligent approaches to modelling and control has led to rapid advances in performance and robustness of a variety of engineering systems. Machine vision and the corresponding algorithms have revolutionised the ability to make systems more autonomous. In this module students will learn about state-of-the-art concepts in intelligent and vision systems from the underlying theory through to solving complex open-ended problems and how to evaluate the performance improvements gained from these approaches.
